Thornhill Shopping Centre was today officially opened by councillor Maseriti Legora of the Polokwane Municipality with the realease of green and white balloons. The green and white colours of Thornhill promise to become landmark colours for Polokwane shoppers as the centre is shopper friendly and has a good mixture of shops.
The developers thanked all departments of the Polokwane Municipality who contributed positively to the development of the centre.
Although many shops opened on the day, many more were still waiting for service providers to finish shop fittings and deliver stock. Telkom has also not yet connected the telephone cable that leads to the centre although all shops had telephones. Apparently Telkom and the Municipality were still trying to find each other - or each others cables - and speculated dates of connection varied between Friday and May 2009.
Thornhill is an asset to Polokwane and there is little doubt that city shoppers will all want a taste of the centre this weekend.

The telephone booth will be equipped with one-way mirrors so the person inside can see out, but shoppers will not be able to see in. Cool for adventurous teens! The booth is one of two left in the country and is Roco Coco's pride. Go visit them and see their fine collection of well-know brands or call Amelia at 082 872 2982 or Feninne at 083 717 3335 |
