The South African Council of Business Women, Polokwane branch, held their annual awards evening on Thursday night.
We are proud that we also received an award from this distinguished organisation. The award was made in acknowledgement of our contribution to the education and implementation of social networking in Limpopo.
Other winners were Willie Esterhuizen of Polokwane Observer and Sonja Randall of Absa.

Karen Greyling from Cleo’s for the Professional Salon of the year 2009
Sophia Visser from Honey who ended third in the country with sales of over R2,7 million for the year and first in the country for recruiting the most new consultants.

The New Business Initiative of the year 2009 award went to Fusion Boutique Hotel - Maria du Plessis
In the Corporate Category the award went to Sonja Randall from ABSA Corporate Division who was a finalist in the SACBW National Competition as well as a finalist in the International Barclays Businesswomen of the year competition.
In the Networking and Value-added Service Category the award went to Nico Prinsloo from My Polokwane.com for his contribution towards the education and implementation of social media as a networking opportunity.
The Radio station of the Year 2009 was Jacaranda RMFM under the management of Dewald Hattingh
In the Professional Category an award went to Mrs. Matlakala Bopape, the Regional Director of Unisa. She is in charge of the North Eastern Region of UNISA, which comprises Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Mozambique.
Also in the Professional Category an award went to Prof Xikombiso Mhbenyane of the University of Venda.
Business of the Year 2009 and overall winner was Polokwane Observer who achieved a number of awards with the latest being the SANLAM Awards for the best overall community newspaper in South Africa.
