Watch what you leave in your car, warns Ledwaba
Snr Supt Sylvia Ledwaba, Head of the Crime Investigation Unit of the SAPS in Polokwane, warned the public that they will undoubtably be victims of crime if they leave money and valuable goods in their vehicles.
Ledwaba addressed members of the Polokwane Chamber of Business (PCOB) at the May business card evening held at the Ghiordes factory in Veldspaat Street on Thursday night.
She said theft out of motor vehicles were rife and called on members not to draw money at banks and afterwards do their other business in town. "When you draw money, go directly back to your business or house. Do not visit other places in the city and leave the money in your vehicle" she said. Apparently, criminals are keeping an eye out for people who draw large amounts of money and then follow them to where they stop and leave their cars unattended.
Ledwaba again provided her cellphone number so that members could call her with their concerns. She expresssed her gratitude for the many calls she received the past month with tips and alerts.
