A Survivor, Me Naomi de Jager, shared her experience after Relay For Life 2008. This letter was published in the Limpopo Informant after the 2008 event.

Baie dankie Kansa

As een van die oudste "survivors" (26 jaar) wat die naweek aan die Relay For Life van Kansa deelgeneem het, wil ek graag hiermee my opregte waardering en gelukwense uitspreek teenoor die organiseerders van die byeenkoms.

From Catering to Candles!

We need 10 000 candles for Relay For Life 2009! Candles will be used for Survivors and in the Lumunaria bags. (Photos of Lumunaria bags on our Facebook page - http://cli.gs/YzZvyA). Eileen Schofield is running a campaign with schools to get candles donated. Absa staff is collecting candles all over the province. Absa Thohoyandou was the first to confirm their donation. If you want to be part of this project, please contact Eileen Schofield on 082 445 8069 or vicplace@lantic.net.

Relay night promised to be extremely cold! One thing always helps to beat the cold - high spirits and a nice snack. The Relay Catering Committee is hard at work to ensure that we have access to lots of good food on the night for all the thousands of people we are expecting to attend Relay 2009. The following will be responsible for catering: Round Table Rotary 100 Polokwane Rotary Club Wimpy Coca Cola Lions Family and Child Welfare Any ideas for the catering team? They would love to hear from you - leave them a comment. Next week more on the challenge to get 10 000 candles!

I have just read the interview with the late Jack Botes on myPolokwane.com done by Nico Prinsloo in 2002.

We all have our memories of the great people who shared and helped to shape our lives.

Mariette van Zyl did an article on coping with cancer. I would like to quote her
