BUSHVELD CALLS MEN TO STAND UP FOR GOD
The second “In the Bushveld” Mighty Men Conference (MMC) will take place from 9 to 11 March 2012, at the Farm Snymansdrift, outside Polokwane.
Men from all over South Africa are called upon to attend this major gathering. Anyone who has previously attended a MMC, will have witnessed the changed lives of those who attended.
Francois Brits, chairman of the MMC Bushveld committee and owner of Snymansdrift says: “Developing a relationship with God is an ongoing process and we never stop learning from the Master Himself, which is why I deem myself honoured to make my farm available for this worthy cause, so that men can be renewed through Jesus Christ.” Men are encouraged to bring their friends to one of the largest meetings of its kind, in Limpopo.
Angus Buchan mentioned at the 2010 MMC in Greytown that it was the last MMC on Shalom farm near Greytown, but that men should take this flame to all corners of the nations.
Francois Brits and his committee in the Bushveld is inspired to organise their second regional MMC gathering to further uplift, encourage and restore men from all walks of life.
MMC in the Busveld was first presented in 2011 and testimonies received proved that this MMC restored many broken relationships between husbands and wives, fathers and sons, friends and between employers and employees.
PLEASE NOTE: Women and small children (6 and younger) are welcome to attend the Sunday service at 9:00 am. During this service the focus will be on families, urging them to seek the face of God to withstand the ongoing onslaught of satan.
The programme for the event:
Theme: Seeking the face of God
Praise and Worship: Franna Benade
- Friday: Piet Jacobs
- Saturday morning: Angus Buchan
- Saturday evening: Riekert Botha
- Sunday morning: Isak Burger
The Snymansdrift farm is situated approximately 100 metres adjacent to the N1 and the R101, a few kilometres South of Polokwane. The farm can only be accessed from the R101 and not the N1.
Camping facilities, which include unique shower facilities and toilets, are available for the weekend. Access gates to the farm from the R101 will open at 6:00 am Friday 9 March. The weekend program will commence at 18:00 on that day. Visitors are requested to be seated by 17:30.
The cost to attend the whole of the weekend is R200-00 per person.

MYPOLOKWANE GROWS INTO MYCITYINFO
The idea of MyPolokwane is now starting to take shape with 16 new websites being rolled out to create a network of business directories.
The main website is mycityinfo which will house links to all the other town and city sites. The sites only have a business directory at present as we work to populate the business directories with entries of the businesses in all the different towns.
Any business owner or employee can register on the site for their town and list their business free.
One of the factors which made MyPolokwane a success is that we do not only rely on business owners listing their businesses, but we keep on updating the business directories ourselves. That ensures a growing business directory and an updated source of free information.
We will be doing the same with all the other mycity websites, but because we are a small family business, it will obviously take us a while to get the directories sufficiently populated to make them the leading source of information in those towns.
That means that we rely heavily on the contributions of business owners and the public. MyPolokwane.com has 3800 businesses with 2700 registered users which shows that once people accept the website as a tool that makes their life easier, user adoption ensures that the website and business directory become a success.
The websites only consist of a business directory at the moment but we will soon ad event calendars and other functions to enable people and businesses to have a range of tools with which they can communicate and promote their businesses at no charge.
MyPolokwane.com content will gradually be transferred to MyPolokwane.co.za. The change to the .co.za domain has to do with location which is of growing importance in Internet search.
All our services such as
• social media campaigns,
• Internet marketing and
• website design and promotion
will be available to all the communities where our mycityinfo websites are. Rates of our services are here.
MyCityInfo websites available now are:
Advertising on mycityinfo websites
We did not forget the small business owners who can often not advertise because of the costs involved.
Every mycityinfo website will have link advertising in the right column of every page where businesses from that town can advertise with a logo and telephone number. Clicking on the advertisment will take the visitor to the business' entry in our business directory where there are more contact information as well as a link to the business' website.
These advertisements serve the same purpose as advertisements in the Yellow Pages namely that it allows the advertiser to stand out from the rest of the entries in the business directory.
The advertising rate at this stage is only R285,00 per month and we provide statistics for every advertiser about the performance of their ad.
Banner advertising on mycityinfo websites
We will only have one banner ad near the top of each website but this advertising space will be reserved for one national advertiser who needs to advertise in every city and town of South Africa.
This advertising space will provide for an interactive advertisement to the requirements of the advertiser.
Only mypolokwane.co.za will host the existing advertisers that we have on MyPolokwane.com as those were the advertisers who supported us since we started.
Mycityinfo on Facebook
Mycityinfo has a Facebook Page which we use in collaboration with our Twitter account as well as this website, to involve, inform and converse with our clients and users.
What you can do is to spread the message to people you know in all the towns we serve at present so they also can experience the benefit of a business directory and website which is actively promoted on the Internet.

MYPOLOKWANE WEBSITES WILL BE DOWN OVER THE WEEKEND
MyPolokwane and mycityinfo, as well as all websites and email services that we host, will be down for 30 - 60 minutes, twice over the coming weekend.
Our service providers in Johannesburg and Cape Town will install alternative power backup systems to provide for expected disruptions in power supply in future.
The first disruption will be to transfer all services to backup power supplies and the second will be to transfer services back to the new supply.
The disruptions will probably occur anywhere between Friday night from 20:00 and sometime Sunday night.

CRIMINALS IN ACTION IN MALL OF THE NORTH
Mall of the North experienced their first theft of the property of an exhibitor when a laptop computer and iPad belonging to HIEB organiser, Dia van Staden, was stolen on Saturday.
Van Staden was alone and had already packed her bags at the exhibit of the Rolls Royce, a prize in the Hieb Denim to Diamonds competition, in the centre court of the mall, when her attention was diverted and her computer and iPad stolen.
We reached out to Mall of the North management and mall general manager, Sumari de Ridder, invited us to view the footage of the event. De Ridder also provided us with still photos extracted from the video footage.
It shows how the two thieves observed the victim's activities for quite a while, diverted her attention and stole the property within 9 seconds. When she realised what happened and raised the alarm, the footage was immediately reviewed and guards sent out into the parking area and taxi rank to look for the thief.
The head of security also ran into the street to see if he could see the culprit. Taxi owners, who work well together with the mall security and management in curbing crime, allowed security to search all taxis and property in the rank. It appears as if the culprit jumped into a taxi that was about to leave. Taxis leave the rank every few minutes on a Saturday.

Waiting for his partner to engage the victim:

While the victim shows the partner the car, the remaining thief picks up the laptop and iPad:

... and walks away:
.png)
From these photos it is clear that bystanders will not notice anything wrong as the thief acts as if he is entitled to do what he is doing.
Mall of the North have close on 200 cameras that must be monitored and it is physically impossible for them to monitor all the cameras at once.
De Ridder calls on visitors to Mall of the North to take care of their belongings and the head of security tells us that around 80% of the daily events they record, has to do with cars left open, laptops and handbags left on passenger seats or handbags left in shopping trolleys without supervision.
MyPolokwane's recommendations additional to the above:
1. Discuss your security requirements with your IT service provider.
2. Have a password activated on your laptop when taking it anywhere. It is not thief-proof but helps.
3. Use the MobileMe application on your iPad.
4. Use a web based security application such as Prey for your computer. It is only activated when your computer goes online but does give some protection.
5. Back-up your computer's hard drive on an external hard drive which you keep separated from your laptop.
