Absa Mall of the North held the official opening of the branch on 26 October.

It is part of Absa's on-going drive to enhance banking access, choice and convenience for its customers.  

A fully-fledged outlet, the Mall of the North branch enables services such as the opening of accounts (Savings, Cheque accounts, Investments), youth and student loans, personal loans, funeral covers, digital banking products and financial advisory services.

“Absa carefully considers the banking needs of its 11 million customers and, therefore, continues to provide full service banking to all our communities. By opening this branch, we are helping to eliminate the need for our customers to travel to the city to conduct their in-branch transactional needs,” said Happy Ralinala, Absa’s Regional Executive for the Northern Region.

“Absa is not only interested in providing world class financial service to its customers, but is also concerned about the well-being of the community,” added Ralinala.

The opportunity was used to promote CashSend, Absa's cellphone fund transfer to anybody regardless of bank affiliation.

Four guests were chosen by lucky draw and R500 were transferred to each as an illustration. They then withdrew their winnings at an ATM outside the branch.
