Difficult

I am currently doing my first year  as an IT student at  Vaal University of Technology . I really love the course but I have the major problem areas in Information Systems and Programming(Visual basic)

I would like to ask anyone on this site who have completed IT, how did they conquer this subjects...I really love the IT world..
