Snr Supt Sylvia Ledwaba, Head of the Crime Investigation Unit of the SAPS in Polokwane, warned the public that they will undoubtably be victims of crime if they leave money and valuable goods in their vehicles.

BEWARE of the lawnmower thief, if you live in Flora Park or the surrounding area. A woman from Flora Park calle me recently to tell me that the man she and her husband had employed as a gardener, and given a place to stay, had made off with her lawnmower and weed eater. Unfortunately, she has no details about the man except that he calls himself Nikolaas. Apparently he is now running his own little "gardening service" with the stolen equipment.

LIKE many peole who live in Polokwane, I rent a home from an estate agency. Imagine my shock when the owner of the house I rent, whom I know personally, phoned me to ask me if I had paid the rent or not.

Turns out the agency, Bokkie Pretorius Eiendomme, which was sold by its namesake to Elmarie Maree, has closed its doors with Elmarie disappearing like mist before the sun. Along with all the tenants' deposits, I must add.
