The 2009 Polokwane Big Spinn is nearing D-Day and the excitement is increasing.

On Saturday 29 August the sports fields of the Genl Piet Joubert School will be a hive of activity when the annual laughing, sweating and team building takes place.

Spinning will start at 08:00 and each team will consist of 10 members. Every hour a fresh spinning instructor will take over the lead cycle to motivate the spinners to keep going for another hour. Spinning will be done for 10 hours and each participant will receive a certificate.

Netball

Korfball and Netball will be played by teams that may still register.

Players need not be professionals. Participation and fun are what is important.

A dance marathon will also be held and there will be enough food stalls and a play are for the kiddies.

Foundation for Learning Polokwane

The Foundation for Learning  of Pietersburg Primary School (Suidskool) will benefit from the funds raised while community students programme, Kydz Inc. will receive the income derived from the "Brag Cycle".

The teams with

• the best war cry,
• best team spirit,
• best marketing material on their clothing and
• best A4 ad on their bike

will all win prizes.

   
Registration

Teams can register for R1500 per team. Mail Dia van Staden at deevs@telkomsa.net for a registration form or call Pietersburg Primary School at 015 295 9062 and they will fax you a form.

The closing date is 21 August to ensure you have a cycle for your team so there is little time left.

Dance Adrenalin

A Dance Adrenalin marathon for junior dancers will start at 09:00 and run till 12:00.

From 13:00 dancers from the age of 12 upwards can join in.

Entry fee for dancers is R50 per person for the marathon. A different dance instructor will show the moves every hour.

A display of dances will take place between 12:00 and 13:00 in the school hall of Laerskool Pietersburg. Contact Melody Lewis at 079 696 8446 to register.

Netball & Korfbal Classic

Mixed teams of eight persons can enter for the netball or korfball classic that will take place from 09:00 to 17:00.

Entry fee is R50 per person for the day. Matches will be played ten minutes a side and IFNA rules will apply. For the rusted players it will help that they may step, but not gain ground during play.
